Situated just north of Pomerol across the Barbanne stream, Clos Des Galevesses delivers classic Right Bank charm with wonderful generosity. Sourced from deep gravelly-sand and clay soils, the 2017 vintage highlights the estate's ability to produce expressive, fruit-forward wines with remarkable depth. Matured in French oak barrels, this Merlot-dominant blend offers a gorgeous harmony of ripe fruit, soft oak integration, and silky structure. πβ¨
Pouring a deep, luminous garnet red, it opens with rich aromas of dark plum preserves, black cherries, and wild cassis, complemented by subtle notes of cocoa powder, dried flowers, and sweet cedary spice. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied, supple, and beautifully rounded, presenting fine, smooth tannins and a fresh mineral edge that leads into a long, satisfying finish. An excellent pairing for roast duck breast, grilled lamb chops, beef tenderloin, or mild soft-ripened cheeses like Saint-Nectaire and Camembert. π₯©π¦ππ§
